With a heart for Harstad
With two trade certificates in hand, experience in shipyard and drilling rigs, and a new title as department manager at Omega 365 Consulting, Andreas Bergvoll (30) has achieved a lot in a short time. Now, he wants to promote Omega 365 in Northern Norway.

Since fifth grade, Bergvoll has said he would work in oil and gas, ideally in his hometown of Harstad. Growing up there has given him a strong passion for Northern Norway. He began his education with a trade certificate as a welder at the company Hamek. After that, he impressively earned a second trade certificate, this time as an industrial mechanic.
“When my apprenticeship ended, and both trade certificates were secured, I started working at RTC Offshore on a drilling rig, where I had several assignments in South Africa”.
From there, he moved on to Maersk Drilling before being hired by Omega 365 Consulting as a consultant, where he worked on projects at Aibel in Haugesund and Johan Castberg at Stord. When the Johan Castberg contract ended in September 2024, he was offered the position of department manager at Omega 365 Harstad. He was the one who took the initiative to set up the office.
“When I see how much activity there is in Southern Norway, I want the same to happen in Northern Norway and the Barents Sea!”
Sold Harstad to the Omega 365
During lunch meetings with department manager Leon Dyngeland at Stord, he asked outright when Omega 365 could set up in Harstad.
“I explained why I thought the company should choose Harstad. It's a city that already has significant oil and gas activity. Several of Omega 365's clients have offices in the city, and Harstad is centrally located in relation to what’s happening in Northern Norway”.
Bergvoll suggested that he could come to Oslo to present his arguments if he wanted. The invitation was well-received, and in October of last year, he successfully pitched his hometown.
In January 2025, Omega 365 opened its new office in a business building at Mølnholtet in Harstad. Previously, it was Equinor that had occupied the premises. Currently, Bergvoll is the only employee at the office.
“I hope to expand. The goal is for Omega 365 to function as well in Northern Norway as it does in Southern Norway”, he points out.
Wants to Be Just as Accessible
Bergvoll sees it as a great advantage to have been a consultant at Omega 365 Consulting in the past. Being on the other side of the table has given him many important experiences, and he highlights his former boss and General Manager of Omega 365 Consulting, Leon Dyngeland, as an inspiration.
“It was never a problem to get an answer or get in touch with him. He invited me to lunch several times, and as a consultant, I really felt appreciated. If I can be as accessible as he was, that's very good. It's often the small things that matter when working as a consultant”, he emphasizes.
Currently, he has undertaken all consultants who have a postal address north of Trondheim. The consultants mainly work within oil and gas, but Bergvoll stresses that the establishment in Northern Norway is also motivated by other sectors.
“Part of the reason for positioning ourselves further north is to become stronger in areas like aquaculture and renewable energy”, he says.
Building and Baby
Bergvoll is active in his free time and highlights his hometown as a small town with a touch of big-city quality.
“There are 25,000 residents and easy logistics for whatever you need. My family has a cabin by the national border, so we often go over to Sweden to ride snowmobiles. Otherwise, I enjoy playing padel or taking advantage of other offerings in the city”.
Being used to juggling many things at once is also useful at home. While the house he built in 2019 is being put up for sale, construction is starting on what will be the home for his growing family. In April, they are expecting a baby and a new chapter in life.
”It’s going to be very exciting, and I’m really looking forward to it! says the enthusiastic Harstad native”.
